The problem is they embrace badness too much. This over aggression is their idea of manhood yet how many of them had a father figure in their life. Where are they getting their ideas of manhood from? Well, they’re getting it each other…..and most Black men in Jamaica and Nor America are raised by women. So in actuality they develop p female temdency

Please enlighten me how kartel is the greatest lyricist, Dre skull! Or anyone in this comment section with a sensible reply. I could list a lot of artists in the dancehall/Reggae scene with at least his level of lyrics. I love his music tho and I wonder how he kept publishing… Free him!

How can a Whiteman could be saying that Vibes Cartel is the greatest lyricist, and him don't knows nothing about the Jamaican music fraternity. He should apologized for saying such a crap,Vibes cartel is not really a good DJ. He is does know how to ride the rethym properly, the reason why the DJ system boils down to this over the past 25years. Most of the top DJs them left Jamaica, and got stucked in a foreign countries. So these little mideocre DJS just practice a few of the old time DJs songs in a different way,and because of the rethym the is very good, it's helped to carried off the song. If that White guy was to go to Jamaica in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s also 90s, he would be talking some thing differently. When there was hundreds of young, and up coming DJs all over Jamaica. There are so many DJS that you don't know where to start but,I could mentioned a few that Vibes Cartel could not even ties those guys shoes laces .I would start with General Echo, Wilton Irie, Ranking Joe, Luwie Leppkin, Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry,Sassafras, Burro Banton, early B,U Brown, Trevor Ranking, Peter Metro,Michigan and Smilie,JoesyWales,so that guy.Do does not know what he is talking about, not because he may hookup with certain celebrities in the United States, that means he is a good DJ. All of who he mentioned they are young people, just getting into the musical fraternity. What is so ironic about certain people who does not know the intricacies about Jamaica history, about the music fraternity .But they are trying to tell people who born, and grow up in Jamaica. Pure nonsense this guy is talking, he does know nothing about DJ.

I been hearing about things about dancehall music, and I been trying to find out what is dancehall. I strongly believe that the younger generation in Jamaica having the wrong concepts about dancehall, I will try to helped this young lady. Because she is being tricked into something which most of the people in Jamaica, does not understand the intricacies about the history of dancehall and. Where the real meaning of dancehall, it is big room is which is covered like the city hall which can accommodated ex amount of people. Which you haveto pay go in,it also a big difference where the music is playing. This is the right forum to explain, or elaborate to the younger generation in Jamaica. The whole scenario about this dancehall thing, that they are having the wrong concepts about dancehall. If the name of the dance go by the kinds of places the dance is kept, for instance. If the dance is held at a hotel, you cannot called it dancehall. You haveto say ballroom, and you are dancing on the hotel floor, also if the sound system is playing at the club house, you cannot say dancehall. You haveto say club house dance, and you are dancing on the floor. So you can see the big differences here, because nobody never took the time out to explained the intricacies about the history of Jamaica dance. That there is a very big differences where the music is playing, it goes by the name of the various places. Is so the names come by,if you are playing on the beach. You cannot called it dancehall, you haveto say beach party. If you are playing at your house, you cannot called it dancehall at all. You haveto say I am having a house party, also if playing on the streets you cannot called it dancehall. You haveto say you are having a street dance, also if you or playing at your work place. You cannot called it dancehall, you haveto say office party. Also if you are having a dance at place without cover, with concrete floor, and it is fenced around. You would called it a lawn, you haveto say you are dancing in the lawn .You cannot called it dancehall because it is not covered as a hall, there is a big difference between room, and hall.Because hall is much larger than the room to accommodated a lot of people,a hall is a place where people meet for various reasons, or meeting, or enjoyment. I will try to show the big differences with the type of music, or songs only played at certain dance according to the kinds of people, or crowd. Also the kinds of sets,or sound systems, because some sound only played one kind of music according to the crowd. While sounds played all kinds of music, or songs. Those sound system, or sets is called a soul sets ,where you will find a better sets of behaving people attend, and they are even dressed more appropriate also cleaner sets of people, a more top class people follow-up those soul sets. If you are looking a beautiful girl to be your wife or girlfriend, is best to go to one of those soul sets. Because those rubber dubbed sound system carrying too much rebel boys, and girls. Also there is no rules into those dance at all, too much bad man also girls is following those kind of sound system. I am talking from years of experiences going to various places, and dances because in my younger days. I was a dance pess, because anywhere the dance is,I and my bigger brother and a couple of is going there. Especially if is certain sets is playing with certain Dee jays is going to be there,I haveto be there.
I been around a very long time, when the DJ system is coming in Jamaica in the 1960s.From the very 1st DJ started in Jamaica until it reached ,to hundreds. Also some of the greatest sound system in Jamaica, so when I listened to some people talking about music the fraternity in Jamaica. I know what I am saying, I useto be living besides the best sound system ever to play in Jamaica and. That is King Tubbys Hi power with URoy at the control, before he recorded one song in the 1960s. Also Black Scaprio by drew land also Sir Don by Cockburn Pen, until King Jammys came in.I have listened to about a hundred sound systems across Jamaica, so when I hear some people talking about music. I know that they are lying, because my stepfather useto have a sound system, and useto played it. Also learned to DJ on the sound system, back in those days, it was all for fun. In Jamaica one time why you useto fighting amongst some of the DJS them, because they useto steals one another music.
Let me give you a up to date on the whole scenario, back in those days. Back in the those days most of the DJS wasn't recording no music at all, so certain dance with certain DJs is there. The men them useto carry tape recorder cassettes, and tapes the music .Who have one even the sound system them useto recorded each dance, and sold to anyone want it to buy. While some man go home and practice the songs them, then run to the studio to recorded a next song.So when the man hear the song playing on sound systems all around town, man go to man about him recorded his songs and. Is so some of the tribal wars started between man,and man I know that of a fact. Even all now these younger generation in Jamaica is still doing it, is using other people lyrics, the only that some of does. Is using it different, even most of the lyrics that Vibes Cartel is using. Most of the lyrics is from General Echo, Jamaica best ever young DJ to in the 1970s .He died in 1980 he is the teacher of slackness in Jamaica, he is the only young DJ in Jamaica at the time recording and. Wilton Irie was doing a few recording too, because General Echo have his own sound system named Echo Tone.In the 1970s General Echo was Jamaica leading young DJ, also Wilton Irie .You only learned of the other young DJ them, after the death of General Echo, and most of them is using is free style all now. I hope some of you guys out there, is willing to learn the truth about the dancehall theory .
